Man reported to be planning abduction of Paso Robles boy
December 18, 2013
Update: The report that a man was planning to abduct a child is unfounded and has no merit, according to the Paso Robles Police Department.
An unknown man is planning to abduct a boy from a Paso Robles school before Christmas, according to a tipster who contacted the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Tuesday.
School district staff said that around 1 p.m. Tuesday they received the tip about the planned abduction from an out-of-area source claiming to be passing it on from a third party. District officials then relayed the information to Paso Robles police.
The suspect is described as a 5 foot 11 inch, 220 pound white male in his 60s, according to the Paso Robles Police Department. He is believed to have blonde hair and blue eyes and drives a white Ford pickup with a camper shell.
The suspected possible kidnapper is also said to have been scouting various schools in the area.
An investigation is ongoing and the tipster is currently cooperating with Paso Robles police.
The school district has increased its security presence at all of its schools, and other districts in the area have received information about the reportedly planned abduction.
Paso Robles police request that anyone with information contact the Paso Robles police department or Crime Stoppers.
