A Paso Robles woman is in critical condition in a Santa Barbara hospital after a car struck her Wednesday morning while she was crossing a street.
Cindy Dougherty, 60, was crossing a residential street in Paso Robles around 7:24 a.m. on Wednesday when a driver crashed into her. The collision occurred in the middle of the 300 block of Santa Bella.
Dougherty suffered severe injuries, and an ambulance transported her to a local hospital. She has since been moved to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
Paso Robles police have identified the driver as 44-year-old Paso Robles resident Jeffrey Brooks. After the collision, Brooks remained on the scene and cooperated with officers.
