Suspected killer of two California deputies was twice deported

immigrationA man accused of killing two Northern California sheriff’s deputies on Friday is a convicted drug dealer whom immigration officials have twice deported from the United States. [L.A. Times]

Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte, 34, is accused of killing Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael David Davis Jr. The killings occurred during a six-hour rampage that spanned the two counties, involved multiple carjackings and wounded another officer and a civilian.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Saturday that Monroy-Bracamonte was deported in 1997 following a conviction in Arizona for possession of narcotics for sale. In 2001, officers arrested him again and repatriated him to Mexico a second time.

ICE officials are requesting that the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office transfer Monroy-Bracamonte to the immigration agency, so that it can begin deportation proceedings.

Following the rampage, the suspect was booked under the name Marcelo Marquez. Officials now say that name is an alias.

Janelle Marque Monroy, the 38-year-old wife of the alleged killer, is also in jail on an attempted murder and carjacking charge. She accompanied Monroy-Bracamonte for much of the rampage.

We have gun laws on the books, never enforced in order to create more violence and more calls for banning weapons.

What do liberals usually say, “They just come here to work”? While this is true for many, we also have an exploding gang population, and some figures seem to show disproportionate crime statistics.

What do ICE officials tell him the 3rd time he is deported. “OK, don’t come back and kill any more of our citizens, now we really mean it”!

My condolences to the officer’s families. This will (and has) brought up the issue of immigration reform. I often wonder “What do they want to reform?”. We already have the most liberal immigration policy in the world. Do you know of another country that is more liberal than the U.S.? Maybe Canada.


Want to immigrate to Mexico? Forget it. Want to immigrate to China? Not happening. Want to immigrate to Japan? Not unless you are of Japanese ancestry or are a Sumo star. Want to immigrate to Germany? I actually looked into it. It would cost you a Million $ and still there would be tons of paperwork and other things.


Want to immigrate to the U.S.? There are plenty of legal ways to do it. The longest wait might be 11-12 years if you are sponsored by family. Otherwise, there is the Student Visa or Work Visa option. But if you are an illegal immigrant, what are the penalties? You might be deported? No Fine if you are caught? Most other countries have a fine if you overstay a visa. They have imprisonment if you enter their country illegally.


So. please, explain to me what we are going to reform about our present immigration policy?

I learned, when I traveled through Europe, that we also have a visa lottery every year where we give away 1 Million visas!


There are many other legal ways into the US. We also started a “Diversity Lottery” to bring in 50,000 people a year from countries where we have few immigrants. (I thought we used to bring in people based upon the work skills we needed!) Some people will also immigrate to Canada or Australia, and then apply for the United States after a few years.


When Obama declares Amnesty after the election for 20-35 million people, we will have one-party rule and more issues like this.

Dictators are not concerned about courting and not offending the voters of the fastest growing segment of our population.
