San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill filed an intention to run for supervisor in 2016 with the clerk recorder on Feb. 9.

Hill had been considering a run for the 35th District Assembly seat, according to several union representatives who said Hill approached them for support last year. The seat is currently held by Katcho Achadjian, who will be termed out in 2016.

Nevertheless, Hill is likely to face multiple opponents in his battle to hold on to the District 3 supervisor seat. Several people have considered running against Hill including Pismo Beach Mayor Shelly Higginbotham, Grover Beach’s former Mayor Debbie Peterson and Grover Beach’s current Mayor John Shoals.

Former state Senator Sam Blakeslee said earlier this month that he was considering running for the District 3 Supervisor’s seat. Blakeslee said his primary reason for a possible campaign against the two-term incumbent was because of Hill’s support for a proposed 1,500 home development in Wild Cherry Canyon.

On Thursday, Blakeslee said he is no longer planning to enter the race because he has learned a credible candidate will challenge Hill in the 2016 election. He did not disclose the name of the candidate.

Three supervisor seats are up for grabs in 2016. District 5 Supervisor Debbie Arnold said she plans to run for reelection. Former District 5 Supervisor Jim Patterson said that rumors about him running again are untrue.

When District 1 Supervisor Frank Mecham first ran for office in 2008, he said he would only run for two terms making this his last.  However, Mecham said Friday he will announce whether or not he will run for a third term in June.

After reading all these Comments, I must say that I am more grateful than ever to Karen Velie, Dan Blackburn, and Josh Friedman for their fine reporting on the CAPSLO Homeless Services investigation. The three of you did a real service and our community is better for it. Thank you Karen, Dan, and Josh!

Oh, put a lid on it. You let these kooks, nincompoops, bloviators, and partisan hacks spew all kinds of unsubstantiated accusations and vitriolic invective constantly with never a challenge or question.

When a caller does get through contrary that opposes your political pets; all you can do is be snarky, nasty, and dismissive in imitation of the other reactionary freak shows on AM radio.

I am merely expressing my opinion. Why am I not entitled to an opinion? When I read all these comments, I am both relieved and grateful for the job done by CCN. You don’t like them. I get that. Nobody forces you to come here and read these articles. But don’t attempt to demean nor discredit those of us who appreciate the work being done here.

The false premise is that you present yourself, and your venue, as an objective …lesser biased source on issues. You regularly cut off or insult those that disagree with your ‘opinion’ or the slanted take of your insipid, slanderous ‘guests’.

As I have tried to lecture you many times over the years, my radio show is anything but objective. I have a clear agenda on many issues. I deal in opinion, not some kind of unbiased reporting like you once were known for before you went off the deep end and drank the Fulks/Ochs Kool Aid. If you think Velie and Co. (and me) are so terrible, why don’t you quit your well-paying tech writing job and come back in and join the fight? Why don’t you show us how to do it right, old-timer?

You must have one of those radios with no “on/off” switch, button or such, and can only pick up one station. I believe several places no sell radios with both “on/off” switches as well as tuners that can pick up several stations in any given area.

Folks dont be fooled. These Dee Torres postings have been made by Aaron Ochs. During the time of these postings there have been no new postings on CCF and if you pay attention to content, tone, and style of the prose, the writings and thoughts are very similar to comments made by Aaron on CCF and tumbler.

Dee, it seems your recent di·a·tribe’s are an attempt to do damage control given Adam’s recent announcement of his intention to enter the race for supervisor.To me, is appears too little…too late.As far as Aaron goes, I can’t begin to imagine how he could help in any capacity unless he’s the poster boy for all that Adam represents, in which case the campaign is doomed from the start.It’s time for a change, and the March winds of change are upon us..

Couldn’t be further from the truth “Pelican 1” aka Karen/Dave/Josh/Dan my “diatribes” have very little to do with Adam. He never had any intention to do anything but run for a third term. This silly story is absolutely made up just as of the others on this silly blog.


I am fed up with the hypocrisy of Dave Congalton and the Blakeslees, who unlike Karen, Josh, and Dan who don’t pretend they’re anything but hateful, they pretend that they’re not but are.Sam has been after Adam for years, Kara’s been running to Adam for years behind Sam’s back. There I said it and it’s true. I told him not to trust her and he did. Just like I was warned years ago not to trust Dave but I did (there’s a long history all documented by e-mails to prove it.


I have witness too much ugliness and too many good people being hurt, heck my own children have been hurt by them, the “home town radio show” and this ugly blog. I tried ignoring but I simply can’t anymore.
