Major injuries suffered in Paso Robles crash

Two Central Valley men suffered major injuries after their pickup crashed into the back of a semi-truck in Paso Robles Saturday morning. [Tribune]
A preliminary investigation found the driver of the pickup fell asleep prior to the crash, Paso Robles Police Sgt. Steve Lampe said. The driver was a 57-year-old Fresno man, and his passenger was a 57-year-old Clovis man.
The crash occurred around 6:10 a.m. At the time, the two men were traveling west on Highway 46 at Golden Hills Road.
Responders transported both men to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. They remained in the hospital Sunday morning.
The driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries.
Police have not yet released the names of the injured men.
