November 14, 2015
A Paso Robles woman suffered major injuries Thursday afternoon after her car veered off U.S. Highway 101 and hit a tree. The 58-year-old woman then spent the night trapped in her car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
On Thursday afternoon, Polly Sue Manning Manson’s 2008 Dodge Avenger went of the highway, down an embankment and into a tree. At about 4:30 p.m., Manson’s husband reported her missing.
On Friday morning, Caltrans crews working in the area spotted the woman’s car off Highway 101 about a quarter of a mile south of Highway 46 East. Emergency personnel used the Jaws of Life to extradite Manson from her vehicle.
Responders transported Manson Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with major injuries. She was later transferred to a hospital in Fresno. The crash remains under investigation.
