Distraught pedestrian killed in San Luis Obispo

chalkA 23-year-old San Luis Obispo man died after being hit by a car on Foothill Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

At 12:35 a.m., a caller to 911 reported that a distraught man was running from his home on O’Connor Way. While SLO County sheriff’s deputies were on their way, Austin Ryan ran in front of a car on Foothill Boulevard.

Ryan died before he could be taken to a hospital.

The motorist, a 43 year old female resident of Los Osos, is not suspected of impairment. The investigation into the manner and cause of death is ongoing.
