April 7, 2016
A 23-year-old Paso Robles woman died in a crash on Highway 101 in Templeton early Thursday morning, according to the CHP.
At about 12:12 a.m., the woman was driving northbound on Highway 101 over the Main Street overpass when her 2007 Kia Optima drifted from its lane, spun out and crashed into the metal guard rail and then the concrete column that supports the overpass. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident, and the driver had no passengers in her car.
Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding the victim’s name until her relatives have been notified.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Officers have not ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash.
