Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will hold a rally at Santa Maria High School on Saturday. Sanders’ rallies have often drawn tens of thousands of supporters.

Doors will open at the high school at 10:30 a.m., according to the Sanders campaign. The Vermont senator will be speaking earlier in the day at Santa Barbara City College. Doors open at 7 a.m. for the Santa Barbara event.

The Sanders campaign has dubbed the Santa Maria rally “A Future To Believe In Santa Maria.” Admission is first come, first served, and RSVPS to the free event are strongly suggested.

Campaign staffers are requesting, for security reasons, that attendees do not bring bags and only bring small personal items, like keys and cell phones. Weapons, sharp objects, chairs and signs or banners are prohibited.

Parking at the event is expected to be problematic. Santa Maria’s bus lines five and six stop at the high school. The campaign also encourages carpooling.

Sanders currently trails his rival, Hillary Clinton, by nearly 800 delegates, when factoring in super delegates. Including super delegates, Clinton leads Sanders 2,305 to 1,539. A Democratic presidential candidate needs a total of 2,383 delegates to clinch the party’s nomination.

Anyone who wishes to attend Sanders’ Santa Maria rally can RSVP on the campaign website.

The only way I would be on that street corner is under 2 conditions: a. I would have to wear a bulletproof vest and b. I would have a very large Life Insurance policy.

I would like to hear Mr. Sanders speak because I find him an interesting , dynamic candidate, but if (when) he began bashing Senator Clinton I would have to leave the room. I hope he sticks to the issues.

Because Clinton has stuck to the issues???? You must be listening to a different Clinton than the one currently running for the Democratic nomination for president which has been bashing everyone.

That would be unwise for as Mayor George Hobbs pointed out back in the late 80’s, “Santa Maria has a Mexican problem.”

O.K. now – let’s see who’s got really big balls. Anyone willing to stand on the corner of Morrison and Broadway this Saturday morning with a “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” sign? Any takers………………….?

How about you Russ?

I will take that bet as long as the sign can be in English.
