Nipomo man facing child rape charges
May 28, 2016
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff deputies arrested a Nipomo man this week for allegedly raping a child under the age of 10 years old.
On Thursday, deputies received information that Angel Manuel Ponce, 22, had repeatedly sexually molested a young girl over a period of several years. Ponce knew the child’s family which provided him access to the victim, according to a press release.
After a short investigation, deputies arrested Ponce on a charge of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a victim under 10 years old. Ponce was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify any other potential victims by calling the sheriff’s office at (805) 781-4500.
