Cambria drowning victim identified

The 16-year-old Cambria boy who died from drowning on Friday in Lake Nacimiento has been identified as Dante Garcia Mora, according to a press release.
Garcia would have started his junior year at Coast Union High School next month. Garcia ran cross country, played soccer and was a member of the FFA. He raised a pig that was auctioned off at the Mid-State Fair.
On Friday evening, Garcia was swimming with some friends in the Heritage Ranch area of the lake when he swam away from the group, had trouble swimming and went under water. The sheriff’s dive team found Garcia’s body in approximately 14 feet of water.
