At 10:02 p.m., the fire broke out on the first floor of a split-level three-story home at 5460 Bajada Avenue. One resident suffered moderate burns and possible smoke inhalation and was taken by ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton.
Atascadero firefighters responded quickly and found heavy smoke and fire coming from what appeared to be a bedroom. Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading beyond the first floor of the house.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
