A third person has drowned in Lake Nacimiento this summer
September 5, 2016
The body of a man in his 40s was found in 12-feet of water at the end of a pier at Lake Nacimiento Saturday evening. It is suspected the man fell from the boat launch and drowned.
After a day of boating on the lake, the victim and a friend pulled a boat up to the launch ramp. While the victim held onto a rope tied to the boat, his friend left for about 20 minutes to get a truck.
At about 5 p.m., the friend arrived back with his truck to find the boat floating in the lake and his friend missing.
At about 6:30 p.m., emergency responders discovered the victim’s body near the end of the pier in 12 feet of water.
This latest death at Nacimiento Lake follows two others that occurred in July.
On July 10, Oscar Edwardo Palomares-Osoria, 29, of Corcoran drowned while swimming near Sandy Cove. On July 29, Dante Garcia Mora, 16, of Cambria was swimming with some friends in the Heritage Ranch area of the lake when he drowned.
