A power outage in Avila Beach caused hundreds of customers to lose electricity toward the end of Thanksgiving celebrations. [KSBY]

The outage began shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday and caused 841 homes to lose power. A problem with a transformer caused the outage, according to PG&E.

Less than 50 customers remain without power, as of 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Electricity is expected to be fully restored Friday afternoon.

Power went out at bedtime? Sure it was major inconvenience.

Especially if you make no preparations to take care of yourself and your family should the need arise and expect the government and its agencies to take care of you in an emergency. It is so difficult to prepare, buy some flashlights, water, blankets, food and such.

Exactly!!! Also, seriously it is 10:30 at night. Go to bed early one night and chances are power is on by morning. What is the big deal? Feel like sometimes we as a nation are just a bunch of whinny crybabies.
