In Dec. 2018, Ogren moved to a part-time position as general manager in Oceano, and began moonlighting as a strategic advisor to the Cambria Community Services District. At last weeks Cambria board meeting, the board promoted Ogren to interim general manager until the board can find a new general manager.

After Ogren went to part-time, Oceano reduced Ogren’s salary and benefits to approximately $127,000 a year. His contract with Oceano was scheduled to end in July 2020.

Currently, Ogren’s combined salary and benefits at the two agencies exceeds $250,000 annually.

In 2014, in an attempt to boost its agency’s credibility, the Oceano board opted to hire Ogren, who was then employed as the San Luis Obispo County Public Works Director, as the new district general manager. Ogren replaced Lonnie Curtis who was fired for cause in March 2014.

Paavo is smart and knows what he is doing. Maybe he could help advise Morro Bay, on their sewer issues.

Ogren should have been fired for cause. BeCAUSE he knows they can’t afford him, and never could. He has run the coffers dry and is now moving on to the next victim, whose coffers he will also deplete. He is a Wallace clone. Just watch, and you will see.

Gosh I hope Oceano feels more credible now that they’ve paid Ogren more money than they could really afford. Just how much better off are they? Have the leaking pipes been repaired?

So Ogren will receive a 100% retirement from Oceano, what around $250,000 plus benefits and also receive a money from Cambria CSD, around $125,000 probably and people wonder why these entities don’t have money for services……….
