A Nipomo man was sentenced on Wednesday to 130 years in prison for sexually molesting three children.

Last month, a jury convicted William Martinez Perez, 59, of six felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14. Related to one of the most serious charges, Perez was found guilty of having sexual intercourse or sodomy with a victim under 10 years old.

In 2017, Perez was arrested on a host of child molestation charges related to alleged sexual abuse of two girls between 2011 and 2016. During the investigation, detectives discovered Perez had abused a third child between 2001 and 2005.

The conduct involved three separate child victims and took place between 2001 and 2005, and 2001 and 2016.

This from another source:

The jury also found true the allegation that the crimes involved multiple victims under the age of 14, subjecting Perez to a sentence of life in state prison.

District Attorney Dan Dow said, “Sexual abuse of children are some of the most complex, sensitive and tragic cases handled by our office. It takes an immense amount of courage for these young victims to come forward and report the abuse.”

If the the youngest victim was 10 years old in 2001 that would make them about 21 years old.

If the “press” was a little more focused on actual news, instead of “social engineering” by ignoring hard news, there could be more informed citizens, which would allow for more “sense of community” environment.

The court of public opinion coupled with swift and certain execution of the law against criminals can be encouraged by an honest press and discouraged by a dishonest one.

It appears that real public opinion will be rebuilt using media sites like calcoastnews.com

I look forward to reviewing “Lying in Trash.” It promises to be an important “barnburner.”

This is one sick individual. I hope he never sees a chance of parole or even the slightest of chance of it. There is nothing more precious than the life of a innocent child. He violated the defenseless in the worst way. In my opinion, this is one of the worst crimes of all. May he never have a day of peace.
