San Luis Obispo County is bringing back an indoor mask mandate for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

Health officer Penny Borenstein announced on Tuesday that masks – which will be required starting on Wednesday – are needed to fight the rising number of people hospitalized with COVID-19. There are currently 67 SLO County residents in the hospital receiving treatment for the virus, 20 in intensive care.

While more than 60% of SLO County residents over 12 are fully vaccinated, there have been 3,543 new cases and 18 deaths in August, compared with 163 cases and no deaths during the month of June.

During the past four days, 592 SLO County residents tested positive for the coronavirus and three residents died. Paso Robles leads with 166 new cases, followed by San Luis Obispo with 99, Atascadero with 83, Arroyo Grande with 49, Nipomo with 35 and Templeton with 30.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 25,729 people in SLO County have tested positive for the virus and 284 have died.

There have been 4,366,577 positive cases, and 65,885 deaths in California.

More than 40,114,099 U.S. residents have tested positive for the virus, and 657,910 have died.

In addition, the number of people infected with the virus worldwide continues to increase: 218,540,994 cases with 4,533,609 dead.

Why stop here, let’s deny medical care for speeders or reckless drivers in auto accidents, fast food eaters with heart issues, certainly smokers from cancer treatment, people who cross streets against lights if they get hit, basically anyone who doesnt exercise, eat right, or does anything reckless, such as……..?

When hospitals are overflowing with people who wouldn’t do the things are proven to reduce spread then yes they can wait at the end of the line

Nice job kayaknut. You revealed the shallow thinking of those and their irrational emotional frenzies.

So eat right, don’t smoke, wear a mask and don’t drive like an ahole. Good advice!

  • If you drive recklessly and run over someone, your insurance pays their medical bills and you face jail time.

  • If you drive under the influence and kill someone you face jail time.

  • If you fail to get vaccinated, catch covid and pass it on to some immune compromised kid who dies…

To all of those anti-vaxers and anti-maskers – I have a question:

If you can not accept that the medical profession has developed a proven method to drastically decrease getting or transmitting Covid – then why is it that when you do get Covid – you run to the hospital to get the medical profession to do everything they can to cure you? And take up ER beds from other very needy patients.

Can you really have it both ways? The vaccine was developed by the medical profession, but is no good. But you get Covid and now the medical profession needs to do everything at all costs to save your sorry (fill in blank).

People who are anti-mask and don’t take this seriously shouldn’t be allowed to have a hospital bed before someone who’s having a heart attack, stroke etc. Don’t want to protect yourself last in line at hospital.

Exactly. It’s just like if you are a chronic alcoholic, you are going to be last on the list to get a donor liver.

Just wait until the horse paste eating sheeple read this: Brazilian viper venom may become tool in fight against COVID, study shows

Evolution in action.

Airline stock just went up from flight reservations to Brazil.
