Hundreds protest in San Luis Obispo over Supreme Court abortion opinion

Several hundred people protested in downtown San Luis Obispo on Monday after a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion indicated the nation’s high court would overturn the landmark abortion decision Roe v. Wade.

Pro-choice advocates gathered outside the San Luis Obispo courthouse, where activists voiced their concerns. Members of the crowd held signs with messages like, “reproductive justice for all;” “keep abortion safe and accessible;” and “her body her choice.”

Demonstrators also marched around downtown SLO.

Justice Samuel Alito’s leaked draft was created in February, and though it indicates plans to overturn Roe v. Wade, it is not the final opinion of the court.

Regardless if you are for or against abortion, Roe vs Wade was the worst Supreme Court decision of all time!!!

It was a activist decision of the Court trying to do the right thing at the time!!!

The problem is that every Supreme Court Justice since this decision is based almost solely on where they stand on this one issue:(

So instead of Legal Scholars we have a court of activists:(

Abortion should be legislated not a Constitutional right!!!

Of the people who are protesting the leaked, draft opinion, I wonder how many have actually really read Alito’s opinion? Few I would guess. Probably just getting their opinions from Rachel Madow and crying Joe and Minka.

The opinion. If it is real. DOES NOT OUTLAW OR BAN ABORTION. It places it back into the hands of voters of each state, that’s it.

I find it ironic that when asked about this situation, Biden referred to “Aborting a Child”, vs a group of cells. Must have a serious conflict with his “Dedicated Catholic” status.

Don’t the protestors know that this is blue state California? Overturning Roe will not in any way affect a woman’s right to an abortion. You can still abort the fetus basically in the first trimester and beyond that with restrictions in CA.

What happened to the choice of not getting pregnant?

You know that’s not realistic, and if there’s an accidental pregnancy the burden and responsibity will ALWAYS be on the woman.

Let’s be truthful and transparent here. It does stop abortions. It puts it back in the hands of the states to set standards regarding abortions per state like it should of been from the start.

The statement “reproductive rights for all”. How about that innocent childs right to life?

The statement,”keep abortion safe and accessible”. How about the sanctity of safe and accessible life for that child?

The statement,”her body her choice”. What about the innocent female infant and future of her about her body?

I find it interesting that these same individuals are against death penalty for violent felons, but okay with serving a death sentence on the innocent life of a precious child.

Sorry, my bad. The first line of the first paragraph should read, “It does “NOT” stop abortions.”

It only means it will go back to the individual States to decide, I also find it amusing that a lot of these same “my body my choice” people were the same ones calling for the Government to force people to get the vaccine…

Nothing more than self-righteous hypocrisy of the highest.

I support medically necessary/rape/incest related abortions 100%! Anything short of that; nope.

They’re protesting an opinion? How liberal.

Ignorance is bliss.
