Officers arrested a Paso Robles teen on Thursday after he posted a photo of himself brandishing what appeared to be a handgun on Instagram.

Working together, officers with the Paso Robles Police Department and the San Luis Obispo County Department pulled over a car driven by 19-year-old Izaiah Coleman. The teen was on probation and under an active arrest warrant.

Coleman drew the attention of officers after he brazenly posted photos of himself on social media brandishing what appeared to be a handgun.

During the traffic stop, Coleman was arrested without incident. Officers searched his vehicle and located a loaded Glock handgun
with an extended magazine, which appeared to be the same gun brandished in the social media post.

Officers seized the gun and booked Coleman in the San Luis Obispo County Jail on several felony weapons violations and probation violations.

At just 19 years of age it seems this young man has a great life ahead of him. :o/

So were those “good gun laws” on the books that they enforced in this instance? Or were they an example of an overly authoritative government oppressing a citizen?

If you are relieved that he was jailed and may face prison time, then you are a believer in reasonable restrictions on our 2nd amendment rights.

You can put every gun law you want out there but the bad guys will always be able to bi pass them. I don’t see any relationship to 2nd amend here as most people who are gun owners don’t post things like this and just maybe this stopped a mass shooting as he should never had a gun in the first place. So they should tell people how he got one so we can possibly fix a loophole

Without that gun law that put this dude in the can, he would still be free to roam the streets.

You are grateful, as am I, that a mass shooting didn’t occur. The “This” that stopped a mass shooting was a gun law appropriately applied. Without out a gun law restricting it being loaded in a car, this kid walks. Does he not?

You are thankful for the gun law, but you just not willing to admit it. Your own words say a such.

I don’t see any relationship to 2nd amend here as most people “

Almost every “bad guy” with a gun was once a legit 2a gun owner, now this one will forever be a bad guy.

Some are found early as above, some blossom late in life:

“Michael Myers, 71, was arrested April 28 on suspicion of firing a gun during a road rage event. San Jose police officers found 40 guns and 10,000 rounds of ammunition in a man’s home as part of a search warrant related to a road rage incident”

I really doubt that this guy went into a gun shop and bought this gun legally. It will be interesting to see just how he did obtain it.

Guns and gun laws aren’t the problem. Criminals like this wayward young man are. Do you think any of these criminal’s care about any gun laws? Obviously not.

I believe in returning to reasonable laws and doing full time for your crimes against society. More restrictions on the 2nd Amendment will NOT stop actions by those who don’t respect it. It only hurts the law-abiding citizens. Talk about an over authoritative government. That’s the direction we’ve going for a while now, and things continue to grow worse.

He probably isn’t one to be prone to headaches.

“No brains, no headaches”

Over 400 million guns in this nation, why shouldn’t this miscreant have one?

Simple. He a criminal who can’t follow the existing laws and restrictions. Again, guns aren’t the problem, criminals with them are.

All the red isn’t a coincidence. A lot more gang affiliated brainiacs like this doofus running around north county lately.

But is he still in jail?, if so not for long probably.

Forehead tattoo. Who says you can’t judge a book by its cover?

Thank you, PRPD. Keep up the good work, and stay safe.
