The SLO Tribune will cut back printing paper copies of its newspaper to just two days a week starting on April 15. [SLO Tribune]

Tha paper will send print copies subscribers on only Wednesdays and Saturdays. The paper delivered on Saturdays will be the “Sunday” edition. The Tribune says the Sunday newspaper has been delivered on Saturday since June, which will continue under the new print schedule.

In addition to two days each week of “high quality print editions,” The Tribune will publish what it calls a 24/7 digital product.

The newspaper is promising a better digital experience for readers and a big update to the eEdition.

In 2019, The Tribune slashed one day a week of print, eliminating its Saturday edition after its parent company McClatchy reported a net loss of $42 million in the first quarter of the year.

Then in 2020, McClatchy filed for bankruptcy. Later that year, the hedge fund Chatham Asset Management purchased the newspaper publisher and obtained ownership of its 30 news organizations, including The Tribune.

Is that what’s called a “deep fake”? Just wondering.

Just as well. It ain’t even good for fish wrap.

Good news is that the New Times is still around so if you need anything to wipe your a** with the other 5 days, you won’t have to worry about running out!

The death of local news over the last 20 years has been a tragedy for our communities and it is having dramatic, I would argue negative, implications for the political dynamics of our republic. This is a sad occasion that should not be celebrated whatever your political persuasion.

Well, when you parrot leftist lies, and fill the rest of the columns with stories from anywhere BUT the SLO area, people see you for what you are….and it AIN’T a local paper!

They’ll probably double the price now.

They could just make it free, MOST people still wouldn’t read it!

Print news, like the failed LA Times are dying. Whenever I read a library copy of SLO Tribune, it contains mostly regurgitated national news, fed from parent companies. No worries, we have Karen Velie and her team to give us the corrupt and salacious local news stories.

I’m reminded of the saying, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?“, so if the Tribune folded up completely would anone notice?

We would be happier! lol

The Tribune is no longer a news agency and hasn’t been for some time. The Tribune is a far, far left blog. The time was when the Tribune was a premiere news source, today twice a week publication is a total waste of time and resources.
