Several thousand people attend No Kings rally in San Luis Obispo

Several thousand San Luis Obispo County residents opposed to President Donald Trump’s administration and in support of politicians creating their own voting district’s through Proposition 50 attended a No Kings rally in San Luis Obispo on Saturday.

In the rally promoted by the SLO County Democratic Party, party leaders and elected officials spoke and participated, including SLO County supervisors Bruce Gibson, Dawn Ortiz-Legg and Jimmy Pauling; party chair Tom Fulks; and SLO City Councilmember Emily Francis. Speakers rallied against Trump, ICE and fascism.

Speakers promoted uniting together to stop ICE and to change the constitution with additional provisions for undocumented immigrants.

There was music and dancing leading one to say it seemed more like a block party than a protest.

Dozens wore costumes of the grim reaper, dolphins, frogs, eagles, bunnies and more.

Name one president aside from Trump where millions of people have protested their presidency? The only other presidency that had this low of rating was trumps first term.

After the citizens were killed, raped and kidnapped by a terrorist organization. This invasion also happend under the previous administration that seemed to be incapable of not only having the hostages released but also making a peace agreement. This is something the current administration accomplished in less than a year. It shouldn’t be a political issue when hostages and peace is reached in a region that war has been taking place for decades after decades. Its your choice to make it political so you can find a reason to disagree with a politician and try to create a divide. I would find that a pretty miserable way to go thru life. Its pretty amazing the way Israel praised Trump while certain democrats still want compare him to Hitler.

Looks like a good gathering, which should be ALL Americans to demonstrate that Americans are disgusted by this corrupt administration and federal governmental leaders who don’t give a damned about our country. We are on the verge of World War III because of this incompetent and selfish President and his blind followers who won’t see the BIG PICTURE surrounding them, directly and intentionally placing our children and future American children in harms way, which would have been avoided if this clown had not bee elected.

What I understand from your post is you don’t like President Trump for some very vague reasons. What is the big picture? Climate? Nuclear proliferation? Rise of terrorism? Glyphosate?

My guess it’s the many convictions in criminal cases. The fact he is a sexual abuser. Election fraud. He is a pedophile that protects other pedophiles. Should I go on?

I think it was the harshness of the treaty of Versailles breeding Hitler and the invasion of Polland whom France and England vowed to protect. History book version. I never heard the FDR theory. I have to laugh that these protests are being funded by the very same wealthy billionaires that these protestors claim they hate. Newsom is acting like a real king in this state dictating what we can and cannot do and pushing Prop 50 in our faces just to posture against Trump to further his 2028 aspirations. This is not the best for California citizens but he doesn’t care since he’s all about himself and he has lemming worshippers who are supporting his self-centered ego. He’s exactly why so many have given up on California and moved to other states where they can have a decent way of life. California has the highest taxes, the highest housing prices, the highest utility and gas taxes, and lowest wages in many of our cities. Newsom and his state legislator cronies have taken this state downhill to where it’s difficult to impossible for many of our children and grandchildren to live here. That’s a dictator and/or king who cares only about himself, not his people!!

Why would billionaires have to fund a protest on a city street? Last time I checked it was free to stand around on sidewalks or in parks. Like I said in an earlier post, the same allegations were made against the tea party protests when Obama was president. There was no evidence that billionaires funded those protests and no evidence here either.

Preach it. The Democratic party has opened our borders, pouring tens of millions of illegals in to compete for scarce housing, pushing the prices sky high. If it keeps up, California will be run by the Vatican and not our crooked, Democrat state assembly. I’ll pass. Build the wall.

Don’t kid yourself. There were by far many people who were not dressed in silly costumes or carrying signs. There were a great deal of everyday Americans who showed up to voice or express their concerns about the insanity we now witness on an everyday basis…… Those pictures however aren’t as lively and less likely to be published……. I did not see anyone with a “Free George Santos” sign, but then again, that’s no longer an issue is it?

Pretty sure you were not in Russia in 1917 when the Bolsheviks took over. I also doubt you were in China in 1948 when Mao took control. Maybe you could have been in Vietnam when Minh took over, but would bet against it. Or maybe you were in Cuba in 1959 when Castro seized power.


In all of those cases, a well armed, well organized group with strong backing from many of their countrymen took power and attempted to institute Marxist ideology. Now those events were a far cry from a disorganized rabble of everyday Americans dressed in silly costumes and wielding zero power.

And I thought “No Kings” meant no to Governor Newsom’s attempt to ignore California’s constitution and take away the people’s right to have district maps drawn by an independent group instead of people chosen by King Newsom.

If that happens it will be the California electorate, not the Governor making that change. The law is written as a temporary measure returning the mapping to an independent body after the next census.
