Several thousand people attend No Kings rally in San Luis Obispo

Several thousand San Luis Obispo County residents opposed to President Donald Trump’s administration and in support of politicians creating their own voting district’s through Proposition 50 attended a No Kings rally in San Luis Obispo on Saturday.

In the rally promoted by the SLO County Democratic Party, party leaders and elected officials spoke and participated, including SLO County supervisors Bruce Gibson, Dawn Ortiz-Legg and Jimmy Pauling; party chair Tom Fulks; and SLO City Councilmember Emily Francis. Speakers rallied against Trump, ICE and fascism.

Speakers promoted uniting together to stop ICE and to change the constitution with additional provisions for undocumented immigrants.

There was music and dancing leading one to say it seemed more like a block party than a protest.

Dozens wore costumes of the grim reaper, dolphins, frogs, eagles, bunnies and more.

This no kings rally was basically a democrat party rally and nothing more. The same people would show up for anything the DNC pushed upon them. It means absolutely nothing.

LMFAO at these clowns. This is the same group of people that can’t tell us normal people what a woman or a man is, how can we expect them to be able to determine the difference between a KING and a PRESIDENT!!!!


The rest of us normal people were at our kids football or soccer games, or at the park with our family, or doing some other family activities on a Saturday.


These protests are their 1st amendment right and I encourage them to continue to organize these “NO KINGS” ralleys, ENTERTAININGAT THE VERY LEAST!!!!!!!

I understand protesting something that you’re against, but do they know how stupid they look? Why would they think someone in a frog costume (or clown, or squid, or T-Rex, or chipmunk) would change my mind about what a great job our President has done in the last 9.5 months?

And to be clear, these protests were the largest in Americas history. Ever! Over 7 MILLION people protested. Thousands in SLO. All peaceful.

To all the people here ripping into the protesters: stop being such sensitive little snowflakes. Trump will survive the blow to his massive, narcissist ego and for you cult members: you will too. Protest is as American as apple pie. It may be hard for you to know that not everyone has slavish devotion to Dear Leader. If it makes you feel better, check out his fantasy video of him as a top gun pilot dropping fecal matter all over the demonstrators.
