Man hit by train in Paso Robles

July 17, 2012

An Amtrak passenger train struck a man on the tracks near 24th Street just before 6 p.m. on Monday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police describe the victim as a white male about 60 years old. They are not disclosing his name until his next of kin are notified.

Paso Robles Police and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies are working to determine the cause of death.

Is it just a coincidence that every July someone ends up on the RR Tracks in Paso? Three years ago, the tragic and unsolved death of Bryan Clifton Brady. Two years ago in July, a young man was drugged in alocal bar and woke up on the RR Tracks. Now, this year in July, a 60 year old man is killed on the RR Tracks. I am very sad for the victims families. I hope the local police do a thorough investigation.

Maybe We could send Our Paso Robles City Mgr. down to check the track and cross ties ………………….sometime before November ?

Uh, he was hit by a train because he obviously was too close to the tracks? Could this be the cause? Yep.

There’re many signs posted to stay off of railroad property, and common sense tells you to especially not walk near or on the tracks. Many have been killed in this manner if they have hearing problems. Unfortunately, Darwin still lives.

Another one ! Is it me or do lots of people get run over by trains in Paso?

Apart from that, my condolences to his loved ones.
