A university student has been sentenced to four years in prison for an Avila Beach crash that killed two of his friends.

Evan Green, 22, of Chico, was driving on Avila Beach Drive near Cave Landing Road when he lost control of his vehicle. The automobile flipped several times, went off the road, through a fence and landed on the Avila Beach Resort golf course.

He was driving without a license and he had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal driving limit.

Two of the three passengers in the car, 21-year-old Marcus Alex Nelson of Castro Valley and 21-year-old Aaron Beaver of Eureka, were killed.

Jacob Zimmer, 21, of Castro Valley was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with major injuries.

Green plead no contest to two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Kill 2 people and get 4 years? Good time and he will be out in 2. You must be kidding me! There are people doing 30 plus years in prison for drug charges. Undoubtedly the kids parents had bucks. Money talks!

Should have read the full story earlier. Was He driving without a license ? Did’nt have it with Him ?, or possibly lost it for other problems ? Sounds like the prosicution did a poor job , and Greens Lawyer did what He was paid for. Really doesnt sound just………. 4 years !
