Inn evacuated during Avila Beach fire
May 7, 2014
The San Luis Bay Inn was evacuated for a short time Tuesday evening as firefighters battled a blaze burning behind the Avila Beach Golf Resort.
Firefighters responded to two fires and downed power lines at approximately 5:45 p.m., one behind the resort that burned about 10 acres and another in the area of Avila Beach Drive and Cave Landing Road that scorched about a quarter of an acre.
As a result of the downed power lines, more than 400 PG&E customers lost power.
The cause of the fires is under investigation.
