Driver hits gas line and runs in Santa Maria

Santa Maria officials evacuated about 80 residents Sunday night after a driver crash crashed into a gas line, causing a leak near houses. [KSBY]
The vehicle crashed into a large service gas line in an alley near El Camino Street in Santa Maria around 9:30 p.m. The driver then left the car and fled the scene.
Police and firefighters responded and administered an evacuation that lasted about three hours. They did not report any injuries.
Santa Maria police are still searching for the suspect who crashed into the gas line. They have not yet identified the person.
