October 26, 2014

chpTwo children are dead, two adults are hospitalized with major injuries and a Morro Bay man is in jail after an alleged felony DUI accident Saturday north of Cayucos on Highway 1.

Shortly after 4 p.m., Tanner Mengore, 22, was driving a Chevy Avalanche at a high rate of speed when he lost control and the vehicle rolled several times. The vehicle then went off the roadway, drove into a ditch and hit a tree near Villa Creek Road.

Three passengers, a 3-year-old Los Osos boy; a 17-year-old Morro Bay boy and Wendi Brito,19, from Morro Bay, were thrown from the truck. Both boys were pronounced dead at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.

Wendi Brito and Michael Brito, 23, of Los Osos were transported to local hospitals with major injuries.

Mengore was treated for minor injuries at French Hospital Medical Center and then booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

If that was my kid, he would be rotting for some time.

You gotta be on drugs to bail out that killer. They did not even buckle the baby!

The Fishwrap said he posted his $100,000 bail. Where in the hell does a 22 year old doper find $100,000 on short notice?

My bet is that the smoke shop, or the synth-pot manufacturer, bailed him out because they recognize that this is going to be very very bad for business.

Best not to drive while you’re high on MJ.

Mengore is no longer in County Jail, So where did he go?

Wasn’t it spice not mj? BIG difference between the two, both in effects and legality.
