Crash near Cuesta College traps two in SUV

An SUV swerved off Highway 1 Saturday night and crashed in a creek bed near Cuesta College, trapping two people in the vehicle and critically injuring at least one person. [KEYT]
The vehicle left the roadway around 10:15 p.m. and drove through thick foliage before coming to a stop in the creek bed. Emergency responders had to extricate the individuals trapped in the SUV.
A third person emerged from the vehicle without assistance from emergency personnel. Each of the three people involved in the crash suffered injuries.
The injuries ranged from moderate to critical. Responders transported them to nearby hospitals.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Personnel from Cal Fire and the San Luis Obispo city fire and California Men’s Colony fire departments responded to the crash.
