Two homeless Morro Bay men allegedly greeted a female visitor to the city by threatening her and stealing her cell phone while she was in the middle of a call.

The woman, 49, was sitting in her parked car on Main Street near Atascadero Road around 4:15 p.m. Sunday. Frank Daniel Hudson, 57, and Chance Lee Otero, 50, approached her vehicle and made verbal threats, according to the Morro Bay Police Department.

One of the men struck the woman’s car with a belt. The second man then reached through the partially opened car window and grabbed the woman’s phone.

The person with whom the victim was speaking called 911. Morro Bay police located Hudson and Otero, arrested them and booked them in San Luis Obispo County Jail on Monday.

Ever watch that survivalist reality show with the guy who walks everywhere in bare feet, refusing shoes because he wants to keep his feet tough? He could wear shoes, but then his feet would get soft and hurt too much the next time he had to go barefoot. Utopia is kind of like shoes on the feet. You live in one too long and YOU get soft. When Reality starts tearing down the walls of Utopia, it hurts. A lot.
