DUI driver critically injures pedestrian

June 20, 2015

DUIA Los Osos man was allegedly drunk when he crashed into a pedestrian in San Luis Obispo who was walking in a crosswalk Friday night.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Dennis Whittinghill, 63, of Los Osos, was making a turn onto Higuera Street from Broad Street when he hit Alvino Figueroa, 89, of Redlands. Emergency personnel transported Figueroa to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition on Saturday.

Officers arrested Whittinghill for felony DUI and booked him into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. He has since been released on bail.

Drunkenness of any kind can lead to senseless tragedy – whether it be from alcohol or the Holy Spirit.

As ToHellinaHandBasket and Cindy proffers, and barring Jesus, as God, being any kind of a physician, He most certainly does have something to say about this unfortunate DUI injury situation.

“But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.” (Exodus 21: 23-25)

Therefore since Dennis Whittinghill is out on bail, he should be brought forth and whatever injuries Alvino Figueroa unfortunately has, the same should be done to Mr. Whittinghill as the bible so states!

Again, since we’re a Christian Nation, and we’re to obey our Hebrew-Christian God, let us hope that poor Mr. Figueroa doesn’t die because of the blatant disregard of the safety of others by Mr. Whittinghill’s DUI. If he does die, then the following godly passages will trigger in behalf of Mr. Whittinghill.

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.” (Genesis 9:6)

“Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.” (Leviticus 24:17)

Fellow Christians, please don’t be ignorant and say that the above godly inspired words are in the Old Testament, and therefore are not to be followed today. This only embarrasses our Christian faith because of the fact that our Jesus, as God, inspired these said passages to begin with, and as Jesus and Peter point out in the New Testament, we’re to follow the Old Testament today. Thank you.

Did you know that Christians are supposed to follow the New Testament?

Try reading the New Testament Ted. We’re no longer under the law.

“Now, after you will go through the hellish process of having hit an innocent person while under the influence of alcohol, get help!”

How about getting help before you hit someone that way no one has to go through the hellish process. If you have been out on the town having a good time or even drank a bit too much at dinner, call a friend, call a taxi but don’t drive. It isn’t worth it. If you’re a heavy daily drinker, get help and yes, Jesus is the great Physician.

If you don’t know or care that drinking and driving can cause you to hurt people by age 63, then it is time to take this man’s license away for good….AFTER he serves some serious jail time.

My thoughts are with the victim. 89 is quite a fragile age to be hit by a drunk driver.

Alcohol and driving are not good partners.

Dennis, please..if you feel you must drink, DO NOT DRIVE!

Now, after you will go through the hellish process of having hit an innocent person while under the influence of alcohol, get help!

Jesus comes to mind. The great Physician.May the Lord bless/help you.

Mr. Figueroa. The Lord bless and heal you. And give your loved ones strength.
