Hill threatens Carpenter with beat down

San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill allegedly threatened to kick a competing campaign candidate’s “ass” if the competitor did not stay away from Hill’s largest donor, according to SLO City Councilman Dan Carpenter.

During a Tuesday afternoon ribbon cutting event at the Village of Pacific West in Pismo Beach, one of developer Gary Grossman’s mixed use projects, Grossman gave Carpenter a private tour of one of the residential units. As Carpenter and Grossman left the building, Hill arrived, gave Grossman a hug and quickly led him away, Carpenter said.

Hill later approached Carpenter who was standing in the parking lot near an open field.

“You keep contacting my donors, and I am going to take you out in the field and kick your ass,” Hill is reported to have said as he pointed to a field in front of several witnesses.

Carpenter responded by calling Hill a “bully”and telling him to go away.

A few hours later, Carpenter sent Hill an email warning the supervisor to knock it off.

“Because of your threatening (bodily harm) comments and posturing directed at  myself today at a public gathering in Pismo Beach at approximately 3 p.m., you are advised to not have any physical, verbal, written, electronic, or other contact with myself or my family at any time in the future,” Carpenter wrote. “I encourage you take this warning seriously.”

Hill, who has nearly 10 times as much cash in his reelection war chest as his District 3 challengers have combined in their campaign accounts, received much of his funding from developers

Hill’s top donor is Grossman, who contributed $5,050 during the last reporting period. Grossman, the president of Coastal Community Builders, has donated previously to Hill’s campaign and $50,000 to the nonprofit of Dee Torres-Hill, the supervisor’s wife.

It appears that Adam “Obese Little Bully” Hill is beginning to feel the pressure of a legitimate challenger. He’s giving voters more and more reasons to not vote for him in the upcoming election.


I suspect the Obese Little Bully (OBL) might now be wondering if taking enough cash from developers will be enough to ensure his future as a county supervisor? Like Tony Ferrera down in AG, it’s time to flush the OBL down the crapper by voting for someone who actually has voters’ interests in mind. Someone like Carpenter.


For what it’s worth, given the OBL’s rather sickly physical appearance of late (he must wear a portly cadet sized suit), I suspect Carpenter could drop the OBL like a bad habit should the OBL make further silly threats.

I agree doglover! I wonder if AH’s threat could have been viewed as a terrorist threat. After all, that is what he and his wife Dee are.


Two sad human beings to say the least. But what goes around comes around. It’s not a question of if, but when. It most assuredly will happen.

What was Dan doing there though? Sounds like he’s courting the $ too. This little press release sounds like a strategic move on his part. They’re all a bunch of crooks.

Press release my ass. You think this was widely distributed? You think the Trib and New Times and Business Times will “report” on this?

Still, it begs the question of how the info went public. I doubt the Hill camp released it.


And again, what was Dan doing there in the first place? Maybe his his motives were “honest,” but it seems as though he may have been sucking up to the money too? — of course this is only unsubstantiated speculation.


Lastly, was it a coincidence that hill happened to arrive when dan was there? Why did dan stick around instead of leaving right away? Who were these witnesses and why were they present. Is it all just an innocent coincidence, an ad hoc opportunity to create some political fodder, or was this whole “episode” planed in advance?


Perhaps people in the know can shed some more light for me.


Btw, i do have a strong dislike for hill, but then again i dislike all politicians who put money before integrity.

Carpenter was there for the ribbon cutting ceremony and Grossman was giving him a tour of part of the project.


How did the incident become public? There were witnesses to the incident. Any of a number of people could have reported this, including Carpenter. Too bad he didn’t call the police.

This city is becoming filthy with money and greed. We need to introduce the old “vomitoriums” they used to have in Greece….where you gorge yourself….vomit….and gorge some more; because you just cannot get enough.


Two million dollar condos? Not enough!!! We need MORE decadence….richer residents…city politicians that will stop at nothing!

A “vomitorium” was an ENTRANCE/EXIT in ancient buildings. The Latin word vomitorium, derives from the verb vomō — to spew forth.

Well, just another “detestable” action by the ever so inept Adam Hill. Did you expect anything less?


All true Christians can gain solace in knowing that Mr. Hill will be swimming in the sulfur lakes of HELL upon his demise. Praise the Lord for His revenge upon his creation that act in the manner that Adam Hill did in this situation!

Man I wish Hill would do that to me. I’d be more than happy to take him up on the offer and meet him anywhere, anyplace.

First of all Adam, you couldn`t kick your OWN ass out of a wet paper bag.

Furthermore, if you have to lie, cheat, steal, obstruct and bully to get your point across, you must not be capable of surviving on your own merits.

Or maybe Hill’s just jealous of Dan’s time with Grossman. Hill comes up gives the guy a hug and leads him away. Meanwhile, in SLO Journal Grossman outs himself as the gay developer everybody loves once they find out he’s gay. Have to wonder about these things. Oh, can hardly wait for all the thumbs down for even bringing this up.
