Gov. Jerry Brown

The New Years is right around the corner and it comes with new laws regarding requirements for graduating high school, gun rights, internet privacy and many other issues. Here are some of the laws that will likely impact state residents.

SB 172: Suspends the California High School Exit Exam and allows student who did not receive a diploma because they failed the exam to graduate. SB 172 permits students who earned the units but failed the exam going back to the 2003/2004 school year to receive diplomas.

SB 707: Prohibits people with valid concealed firearm license from bringing a gun on a college or university campus or within 1,000 feet of any school providing instruction in kindergarten or grades 1 through 12.

SB 178: This bill prohibits officers or government entities from examining citizens’ emails, text messages, Internet search history and other digital data without a search warrant, wiretap order, order for electronic reader records or subpoena. The law does not apply to certain emergency situations.

AB 1014: Shortly after a man with mental health issues killed six UC Santa Barbara students and wounded 13 others, Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation that temporarily prohibits gun ownership for people determined by the courts to be a threat to themselves or others. Family members, friends and law enforcement personnel can seek to have guns removed from citizens.

AB 329: Makes participation in sex education courses mandatory for students in grades 7 through 12 unless parents opt-out. Schools are required to teach comprehensive sexual health education and HIV prevention.

When we allow stupid to vote, do not be surprised when stupid rules.

KSBY reported the other night Santa Maria High School would be sending out 800 notices to past students that all they had to do is swing by and get their diploma.

This test is given in the 10th grade so they still have time to catch up in grades 11th and 12th. You know your getting the cream of the crop with this group, :(

The CAHSEE is bascially a Middle School type exam. You have to be able to do basic algebra and writing composition in order to pass it.

California is becoming more and more like the 3rd world, which is why a basic competency test for students was suspended.

Looks like CA will graduate a record number of 30 year olds from high school this year with the 11 year retroactive repeal of the state exit exam. Why?

Good thing only those with murderous intentions will be able to carry concealed weapons on college campus. Note to Muslim extremists – opportunity is knocking thanks to government fools.

“SB 172: Suspends the California High School Exit Exam and allows student who did not receive a diploma because they failed the exam to graduate.”

Translation: Many California students are too stupid to pass a Middle School level exam.

“SB 707: Prohibits people with valid concealed firearm license from bringing a gun on a college or university campus or within 1,000 feet of any school providing instruction in kindergarten or grades 1 through 12.”

Because we would not want to stop deranged people or ISIS terrorists from going on a rampage. Law enforcement has done such a good job stopping past massacres that we have nothing to worry about.

“SB 707: Prohibits people with valid concealed firearm license from bringing a gun on a college or university campus or within 1,000 feet of any school providing instruction in kindergarten or grades 1 through 12.”

Dumbest law on the list. Note to bad guys. Schools are even MORE defenseless now. Open season…

This is how it is, you wake up in the morning and read that another new ridiculous law has passed. That’s right, new restrictions on those who have made the effort to comply.

But the bad guys intent on killing children will think twice now…wait, does it apply to them? It only applies to VALID permits?….I am confused.

Let me see if I can help, Yes, SB707 only applies to VALID permits, so those that currently carry a gun or for a matter of fact those that may in the future carry a gun, illegally, i.e. without a permit, are not in violation of this new law. Does that help?…..

What happens if you live within 1000 feet of a school? Guess you won’t be bringing any guns home. How about places like Los Osos, where you can’t drive in or out of town without coming within 1000 feet of a school? Guess guns are outlawed there now too!

still waiting for the law that states: “for every new law enacted, 1,000 laws must be removed from the books”.

Why, oh why does government insist on reinforcing failure?????

Not sure but probably relates to the government promoting employee incompetence

AB 1014?

that just isn’t the answer

“that just isn’t the answer” No, of course not, let’s just keep letting people with potential mental health issues buy all the firearms and ammunition they want, what could possibly go wrong?

Ever hear of a slippery slope?

Even liberal feminist Naomi Wolf has recognized the importance of 2nd Amendment rights to safeguard against government tyranny.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MYU5Pipl1E

But the government would NEVER abuse laws to target citizens who oppose them by confiscating their guns on mental health grounds.

And I have land in Florida to sell.

Right, because we all know how the first to recognize mental health issues is the immediate “family”. Why stop with the 2nd Amendment? If someone in your family has a grudge against you they should be able to take all your rights away, not just one!

The law is poorly written. Anybody can call up and make a complaint against someone they are just mad at and authorities can take action on it. It will be abused by vindictive people.

Another thing, you have no idea what the law is. It has nothing to do with anybody BUYING guns and ammo. It has to do with taking existing guns away. Also, EVERYBODY has POTENTIAL mental health issues. Your post shows how stupid the anti-gun establishment is. SB 707 is another example of that stupidity.

At this point, bob, I have to wonder if your replies and “thoughts” are calculated. No one can be this dense, unless on purpose.

i dunno; how about a law against stoopid rail follies?
