The incumbent District 3 San Luis Obispo County supervisor is expected to be a no-show at the year’s first debate between candidates seeking a seat on the board of supervisors. Supervisor Adam Hill says the person sponsoring the debate is excessively partisan and makes personal attacks.

Integrity SLO, a political committee run by San Luis Obispo activist Kevin Rice, is hosting a Lincoln-Douglas-style debate in which there will be no moderator. In its 460 filing, Integrity SLO says it opposes Adam Hill for Supervisor 2012.

The debate is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Avila Beach Community Center.

Each of the three candidates in the District 3 race is invited to participate. The candidates are Hill, San Luis Obispo Councilman Dan Carpenter and former Grover Beach Mayor Debbie Peterson.

Both Carpenter and Peterson are expected to attend the debate.

Hill’s campaign issued a press release to favored media saying the supervisor would not attend. Neither Rice, nor CalCoastNews received the statement.

“While Supervisor Adam Hill enjoys a robust discussion about the issues, the “free for all” format combined with excessive partisanship and personal attacks demonstrated by Mr. Rice in the past aren’t conducive to creating an environment in which a meaningful discussion can be had,” Hill’s campaign stated.

The news release also said Hill’s campaign strives to keep the election focused on issues and accomplishments, not “unsubstantiated smears and gotcha moments rigged by opponents.”

Rice stated Hill has not formally declined to attend the debate.

“A false rumor alleges one candidate has formally declined to appear,” the Integrity SLO website states. “Integrity SLO has received no such communication and is confident all three candidates desire to meet the public.”

Doors will open Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Avila Beach Community Center is located at 191 San Miguel Street.

Let’s be honest, Hill will NEVER show up where he or his tiny cadre of sycophants cannot control the questions and/or process. While he may be completely devoid of character and honesty, he is still a limited-tactician with respect to politics; strategically, this makes perfect sense for him to avoid political hazards such as this.

Besides, he knows he’d get owned by Carpenter and Peterson with little to no effort on their part (all they need to do is let him speak).

This will be indicative of Adam’s “no show” after debate party.

Donald Trump is afraid of Megyn Kelly and Ass Hill is afraid of Kevin Rice. Great leaders Trump and Hill AREN’T!

You sound like a cuckservative Jeb? supporter.

Trump knew an ambush from (((news channel))) Fox news when he saw one.

Hill, in contrast, was scared to take questions from voters.

When the going gets tough…the tough get going…they DON’T refuse to show up.

You ADAM, are the poster boy for wimphood.

Dan Carpenter is positioned to win in the 3rd District of San Luis Obispo County. As Vice-Mayor of the City of San Luis Obispo, he presently represents 27,500 of the 55,000 residents within the entire 3rd District.

Dan is well respected for his character and the ability to respectfully listen to all. Vote for Dan Carpenter in June!

Half the third district lives in SLO and the other half doesn’t. To suggest that city is going to control the election is a bit of a stretch. It just ignores 50% of the people. Dan is a good, decent man who would make a good county supervisor.

But I’m with Debbie because she has had the courage to take on the Hill machine and been proven right. She fought against the illegal dust rule. The courts ultimately ruled that she was right and the Hill gang was wrong. She fought to expose the pervasive corruption at South San. Her efforts recently culminated in the important Knudsen report. So when the tough battles are fought I’d like to have Debbie fighting on our behalf.

The funniest reality TV show ever would be the unveiling of all of us CCN commenters. All of the usual suspects would be there, grinning, under the lights.

Adam Hill has a lot of supporters at the Avila Beach Community Center. Not showing up tomorrow is the best thing that can happen for slo. Let’s let Debbie and Dan get to know the people of Avila Beach.

“Adam Hill has a lot of supporters at the Avila Beach Community Center”

Proof?

He hosts a free catered dinner there each year, for only residents of Avila Beach. The rest of district 3 is not invited.

Are you sure he is hosting it or is it PGE / Diablo! Gotta keep the citizens happy there. You have to ask yourself, why Avila? Let me think about it… oh yea, Diablo!

Does he do this for other segments of his district? Does he pay for this personally or do the taxpayers or PGE pay for this? Does he hand out his famous medallions also paid by the taxpayers.

I find it interesting he keeps the people of Avila very happy! Surely, they can’t be brought for a cheap dinner.

I think Lt. Col. Ralph Peters would add Adam Hill to his list of P——S. And at the same time CalCoastNews would not suspend him.
