Burger King employees fall for prank, smash windows

January 31, 2016

Burger King 7

After receiving a prank call late Saturday night from a person saying there was a gas leak at the Morro Bay Burger King and windows needed to be broken, employees complied breaking out more than a dozen windows.

At about 11 p.m., a caller said they were a representative of the fire department tasked with informing store employees of an emergency. The caller then told the employee they needed to break out the restaurant’s windows in order to provide ventilation.

The Morro Bay public safety team, including both the police and fire departments, responded to the possible gas leak. However, upon arrival, fire fighters found the damage to the facility but no gas leak.

The restaurant is currently closed while employees board up windows to protect against theft and rain. On Monday, a contractor is slated to replace the damaged windows.

The city wants to make clear that the fire department would generally not call a business directly to warn of such an issue.

What a bunch of flippin idiots!! No wonder they work at Burger King!!

According to the Demo’s, they should be making $15 per hour. This equates to $30,000 per year. If you have a couple who each make $30,000 per year working at McDonald’s, Burger King, or some other minimum wage job, that is $60,000 per year. However, the median household income in the US is currently approximately $56,000.

Thus, any person with a high school education or less, or merely walking across the border from who knows where and in the US for one day, will automatically be making MORE than the median household income in the US, which includes every minority that the left identifies as already under-salaried. Another poorly thought-out plan to gain political advantage.

We make national headlines once again.

PRICELESS.

My last comment on this is that I amazing that so many people tell us exactly what they would do in certain circumstances. Incredible that they have such foresight to know how they would react.

Ask a soldier in combat why he did something so brave, ask police or fire persons why they did what they did.

The honest to god answer is that fear drives most of these actions. You can plan ahead thousands of scenarios and how you would react, but when it happens most time fear drives your actions.

I can speak mostly from combat and tell you that people do amazing things and only afterwards do they really realize what they did.

Cut some slack unless you have been there done that!

Well, here’s the deal. while demanding pay increases nationwide, these employees can’t even return the correct change to a customer DESPITE the fact that the register tells them EXACTLY how much money to return. It’s truly sad.

The government schools are providing Pavlovian Conditioning not Education.

Political correctness, social indoctrination, affirmative action, multiculturalism, and unionization, all part of the progressive prescription for public education, have dumbed down, homogenized and weakened America.

I would hate like h#ll to call my insurance company to explain this.

Natural Gas has a rotten egg smell…

Everyone knows that…!

The employees should have called the fire dept. as they excited the building if they were in fear…

Yes, they should have called the fire department, but remember, they had just received a phone call from the “fire department”- most of us would have been a little more clear headed and not broken the windows, gotten some conformation that there was an issue and called the fire department back, perhaps even asking for the person who called the warning in to us, but most likely this was a very young, inexperienced crew that thought they were doing the right thing in following the instructions of a supposed authority figure. Cut them a little slack people ….

Just what makes you THINK “they” were “very young” inexperienced crew? ? ?

So does some fast food.

Bet it was a representative of the local window comp-any that made the call. Good way to get business.

haha ,,,points for your humor.

These are the same folks that would make an announcement for some one looking for Mike Hunt or Richard Smoker. The same crew that would look out the window to see if the refrigerator was running. But the 15$/hour crew would have never taken the bait.

Obviously these folks don’t read the paper or watch nightly news – Porter ranch and the smell of percaptin has only been in the headlines for months.

As a business owner I would be upset. But in the same breath these are mostly high school kids who were doing what they thought was responsible. I understand that it was not just the breaking of windows, one of the employees drove his/her car into the building breaking the windows and causing structural damage.

If that’s true then, they’re even dumber than the article said.
