Deputies lose track of suspect in South County car chase
November 7, 2016
A man who was sought in a reported domestic disturbance managed to successfully flee San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies on Sunday. Sheriff’s officials are still looking for the suspect.
Around noon, deputies responded to a suspected domestic disturbance near Avila Beach Drive and San Luis Bay Drive in Avila Beach. On their way to the scene, deputies located the suspect as he was driving away from the area.
The deputies tried to stop the suspect, but he fled when a deputy approached him. The suspect drove onto southbound Highway 101, and deputies followed him. But, the deputies lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle, and authorities ended the pursuit.
Later, deputies located the vehicle in the city of Pismo Beach. The sheriff’s office again conducted a search for the suspect but failed to locate him.
A sheriffs office news release did not include a description of the suspect. Sheriff’s officials say there is no risk to the public as they continue to search for the man.
