How come all the Trumpers are not screaming “free market” when it comes to the price of gasoline, and instead try to blame politicians, who they don’t happen to like?

It’s absolutely ridiculous to blame the price of gasoline on Democrats anymore than on Republicans. Oil companies are making record profits at the expense of our people and our environment. Get real.

Gas prices will continue to remain high as the nation moves to renewable energy and zero-emission vehicles. To not do so would be to slow that transition.

As long as the Democrats (whom I consider the common sense party on this issue) remain with two of the three federal levels of power, I expect the move from petroleum to electric will move ahead steadily.

The rich are already buying electric vehicles. They will be fully electric long before the rest of us. It only makes economic sense for them.

For the rest of us, we must support legislation, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, that provides tax breaks for purchasing electric vehicles. To vote in Republican lawmakers who are still beholden to oil interests is ridiculous. The day of the gasoline internal combustion engine is in serious decline.

We will never see gas under $4 or Diesel under $5 every big company gets rich while the consumers get poorer Glad you voted for a increased gas tax for Newsoms slush fund now?

So I guess all state politicians figure they have given enough excuses for the high gas prices and now it’s just the new norm. What did newsom find with his *investigation into the high prices” last fall? I’m sure it’s not California policies driving up or costs at all.

THANK YOU! Someone needed to put this issue into perspective. If one doesn’t like such usurious price hikes, perhaps it would be a good idea to vote out any legislator who voted for and/or blocks the removal of Citizens United legislation that allows these special interest monopolies like privately owned so called public utilities and fossil fuel barons and drug companies, etc., etc., to buy their way into office, usually whilst lying their heads off about their agenda.

None of the aforementioned entities have the public interest at heart. I like to imagine what our bills would look like if resources taken from our state for private profit were instead publicly owned and could only be sold at a non-profit rate to California residents. Or at least the non-profit rate.

Seriously. We The People are being robbed by private enterprise greed heads. We are not discussing electives like expensive cars or clothes or other luxuries, but the basic necessities that some people are being robbed to acquire whilst a small minority of sociopaths get completely bloated beyond reality at the top.

We used to have laws against this. I’m not pointing fingers at which party removed them, but it would behoove one to find out if it is yours and act accordingly. In any event, trying to raise the vast sums even to stay in office if you are a “good” representative gives them almost no time to serve us.

We have the power to change this situation.

Would love if you guys could do cheapest diesel in the county too!
