Paso Robles City Councilwoman supports interfering with ICE agents

Agents arresting suspect in Paso Robles

By KAREN VELIE

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has increased operations in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties over the past three days. Misinformation on social media about the operation is creating fear in local immigrant communities.

Early Tuesday morning, texts and social media posts reported ICE agents were in both Paso Robles and San Miguel. The texts told undocumented immigrants to stay in their residences, causing many to stay home from work.

The Department of Homeland Security informed city staff that federal agents were serving warrants on the north side of Paso Robles.

Federal agents in San Miguel

Multiple protestors followed the federal agents’ vehicles, honking their horns to warn undocumented immigrants. Others screamed through a bullhorn at federal agents to “get the fuck out” of their neighborhood.

While locals screamed, blew whistles and honked their horns near the intersection of 32nd and Spring streets, Paso Robles City Councilwoman Kris Beal voiced her support of those interfering with federal agents.

“I am so proud of all the volunteers and caring neighbors,” Beal wrote on social media on Tuesday morning. “If you hear the horns, whistles and bullhorns, go to them and bear witness.”

In response, mutiple social media posters thanked the Paso Robles Police Department for interfering with ICE agents.

However, Paso Robles police officers insist they are not interfering or working with ICE agents.

I’m sure Kris Beal would feel free to leave her front door unlocked so anyone can freely come inside and enjoy what her place has to offer and stay for as long as they want, all for free.

Boy, nice to know that our council is helping to get rid of crime in Paso. They will be sorry when Paso Robles is a ghost town except for winos and drug lords. Way to go! How far will you go, council, to slap the faces of citizens and families who call Paso their home?

She looks looks a Looney Lib . Paso you can do better .

WE THE PEOPLE, in the current vast majority, voted for this. ALL OF THIS!

#DeportThemAll (with malice)

Winning!

“Traitorous scum,” somebody drank the kool aid, and by the look of your near constant comments in very similar fashion, I think it was probably spiked with a lil somethin somethin.

Interfering with law enforcement … she should lose her seat

Voicing support for your constituents engaging in constitutionally protected protest is not “interference” by any stretch of the imagination.

^–The low-IQ on this one oozes through the screen…

“It’s a crime to enter the country illegally under Title 8 United States Code 1325, and it’s really pathetic that any member of Congress [doesn’t] understand what the law says,”-Tom Homan, Border Czar

I’ll bet she is favorable towards PR PD and SLO Sheriffs.

Most law enforcement agencies in the US are not in favor of this version of ICE meatheads. Untrained members of Proud Boys blindly stumbling around like a bunch of drunk frat boys ganging up on dishwashers and crashing tax payer funded vehicles.

ICE was established in 2003 and is very necessary. Just not this version.

Hope they regroup and release trained officers that knows what the hell they are doing to go after criminals-not dishwashers and farm workers.

Crashing tax payer funded vehicles? hahaha….do you really have a concern where our tax $$$$ go? Someone give me a close number how much of our U.S. tax dollars are spent on illegals, let’s just start with Minnesota.

We wouldn’t have “this version” (which is a media construct designed to promote fear) had it not been for the past four years. No time to waste. Get it done.

Dishwashers and farm workers do not have outstanding warrants issued for their arrest. Criminals…..those who already had due process administered…..do.

Everything else you said, is a lie.

The federal 287(G) program, established during the Clinton (you do remember, Clinton deported up to 12 million illegal aliens. Right?) administration in 1996, has grown from 135 agencies in 25 states in 2024, to 628 agencies in 40 states in 2025. Yes, that means more and more police agencies are supporting and working with ICE, to deport known and convicted criminal aliens from the USA.

At least you admit, that ICE is very necessary.

Post videos whereas ICE is flashing a search warrant.

I will check back daily-because you wont find one.

A friend in Fresno is processing those detained. He is pro ICE, pro Trump. He said they are rounding up people on suspicion ALONE.

It must suck to be a Trump fan. To throw out lies-then get fact checked. Every. Single.Time. Even 7 year olds are fact checking their parents at the dinner table.

I will check back for your videos of ICE flashing warrants.

Haa Haa Haa!

According to state law, local law enforcement should neither help nor interfere with ICE operations, which is as it should be. After all, ICE has a budget that dwarves California city and county LE expenditures and recently received $75 billion from the One Big Beautiful Act.

Citizen alert! An empathy monster has been spotted in Paso Robles!

Legal protesting is not by definition; “interference”, and this headline is a form of libel, slander and a mischarzcterization of a person and is potentially dangerous to the council members safety and image. Please redacted, correct and change the title.

Exactly. The words supporting is implying INCORRECTLY that she is funding, employing and using other means to INTERFERE with ICE. Then if some wacko threatens her or family; people will claim that she deserved it.

She doesn’t interfere with other law enforcement.

At the same time, take in consideration the audience.

The 1st Amendment allows for “..the right of the people peaceably to assemble..”

See that pesky word? “Peaceably”? That’s the sole criteria between legal assembly, and interfering with law enforcement.

These is nothing mischaracterizing about it. The only danger, is the council member drawing legal attention to herself.

You mean an esteemed publication deliberately mischaracterized the perfectly legal statement by an elected official endorsing their constituents constitutionally protected right to protested in order to rile up its predominantly “conservative” readers? Shocked, shocked I say.
