A burr underneath the saddle

In 1935 Common Era, Italian troops invaded Ethiopia. The rest of the world did little.

In 1937, Japanese troops invaded Manchuria, part of China. In 1939, German troops invaded Poland. England and France declared war on Germany. The United States did little.

Also in 1939, the Soviet Union invaded Poland. The rest of the world did little.

None of these things on their own led to World War 2, but collectively they started the war.

In 1979, Iranian forces took over the U.S. embassy in Tehran. This was an act of war because embassies are sovereign territory of the countries that own the embassies. Our president, Jimmy Carter, fiddled around until the end of his presidency.

For the next 47 years, Iran has been terrorizing most of the rest of the world.

Iran has been a burr under the saddle of the world long enough. Finally, the United States and Israel are trying to remove that burr.

Let me remind you all that the vast majority of us Americans voted for DJT and we are fully supportive of this mission to decapitate the RADICAL TERRORIST IRANIAN ISLAMIC REGIME!!!! I hope Khamenei son gets vaporized next!!!!

Gary, your history is a bit incomplete. It skips the period in Iran’s history when the USA via the CIA destabilized and overthrew a democratically elected leader(who believed Iran’s oil belonged to Iran) and installed a dictator, the Shah (an anti-communist friendly face that kept the oil flowing). Politics is a bit like physics, for all actions there is an equally & opposite reaction. Our actions in overthrowing governments & installing dictators in Cuba, Central & South America, and Aisa has resulted in resentment & country’s hostilities towards our great nation. Maybe Iran is a burr under our saddle, I don’t see how that can justify murdering their leadership & starting a war via a sneak attack, unsupported by our (used to be) allies. If you disagree then is there any nation where we are not free to bomb & murder once an administration feels displeased? Where is the line? When is the murdering & sneak attacks off limits? Where is the line?

Let’s also not forget how the incoming Reagan administration sabotaged the release of the hostages prior to taking power so they could claim the glory.
