“Online rumors” caused chief’s departure?

March 28, 2012

John Hamon

Two Paso Robles city council members have penned a “viewpoint” in The Tribune shoveling praise on fallen police chief Lisa Solomon, slamming county residents who have commented on her public behavior and sexual conduct, and criticizing news reports for causing her downfall.

Nick Gilman and John Hamon signed the commentary, in which they said “online rumors” were the cause of Solomon’s “voluntary” departure.

Hamon said “Lisa is a trusted friend and I will always support her.”

Gilman also said he supports and respects Solomon.

“The atmosphere caused by the online attacks was making it extraordinarily difficult for Lisa, and I was being sympathetic,” Gilman said. “I have had, and still have, the utmost respect for Lisa and the way she ran the department.”

Nick Gilman

The council members’ comments fly in the face of accusations by numerous former and current police officers and department personnel about her on- and off-duty behavior.

Both men said they could “see the toll the rumors and mean-spirited attacks on her character — the majority of them from anonymous bloggers and other online sources — were taking on her.”

They added that they “accepted her resignation with regret.”

The council then unanimously voted to hand her a $250,000 walk-away package and not to challenge her recent disability benefits filing slated to allow her to start receiving benefits before she turns 50. In addition, if her disability is approved, a portion of her retirement will no longer be taxable, increasing her monthly payments.

Citizen …. Of course, this “ANONYMOUS PINHEAD” from the Tribune News probably doesn’t even reside in Paso Robles. Just another bozo from the Tribune staff wanting to cost the taxpayers to
spend more of their money, when a lot of people are struggling financially.

Check out the new editorial from the Tribune on how they recommend that the Paso City Council put a general tax rate increase on the November ballot. Unbelievable.

I’m telling you, the Tribune’s approach to writing articles and editorials is “journalism-by-press-release.”

They just use a press release from, in this case, Paso and slap on a reporter’s name….or call Paso and ask them what they want in the editorial.

I have thought about this and I can say without a shred of doubt that if I were accused of doing what Solomon was accused of and I were innocent, I would not only be furious but I would be out there stating the truth. In fact I KNOW that I would publicly demand a polygraph test, I would ask for the results to be made public immediately and i would publicly invite my accusers to do the same. NO QUESTION about that. The last thing I would do is QUIT and claim that I can’t manage all the scandalous accusations floating around about my reputation.

Lisa had every right to proclaim her innocence, there is no rule that says she couldn’t proclaim her innocence, there is no rule that says she couldn’t publicly demand a polygraph and invite her accusers to do the same. Had she done so and prevailed, this action would have placed the onus right back on the 7 Officers, but of course; one would have to be innocent to assume that sort of posture. Remember she is hardly a demure, shy, damsel in distress, she is a hard core, gun toting, butt kicking cop. She did the only thing a GUILTY person could do in my opinion, duck, cover and quit.

Absolutely, that is the way any self-respecting, innocent person would react. Fight back – don’t slink off into the sunset with a large payoff for things that were not done. Even more so, since she has
be praised by our city leaders as being an outstanding police chief, with extraordinary credentials.
But n-o-o-o, she would rather ‘fold’ under all of these on-line rumors and screw this city just one more time.

As to “Typoqueen’s” remarks about everyone should wait until the facts are known. Who has those facts? Who has the ability, if not the obligation, to release these facts? Solomon, App, and the City Council. One question that I would love to see answered by ‘Typoqueen’ – How long do you wait for the facts to be released? Hasn’t the investigation been completed – according to App and company, YES. Didn’t they say the investigation was halted? Wouldn’t any sane person conclude from this that the investigation is over? Should the citizens of Paso Robles know these facts? After all, we pay the bills – including the quarter million “lets’s keep everything quite” deal.

Do they work for us or do they have the right to tell us what to believe, and when to believe it.?

Typoqueen may be a little young to rfemember Watergate – but maybe he/she ought to do some
reading up on that. Coverups can not be allowed in any free democracy.

Bottom line is that the fact that Solomon resigned in no way relieves the city from any wrong doings that occurred on her part during the time that she was the Police Chief. They need the investigation to reference what ever evidence might exist as to her innocence. If the investigation was going against her while gaining credence to the claims of sexual assault, then they did the only thing that they could do and that was to SQUASH IT. If they admitted that it was complete then that investigation could be called into evidence and they wouldn’t want to offer proof that she is guilty as accused or that the city has incurred exposure to astronomical sexual harassment that encompassed criminal sexual assault on subordinates. OMG, I don’t think anyone has really considered how serious this “repeated” offense is, in fact in 99.5% of sexual harassment cases they DO NOT ever reach the level of a superior actually putting his hands down the subordinates pants and groping their genitals or grabbing their genitals outside the victims clothing or forcing the victims face into the perpetrators private body parts!! Here we have 4 victims and at least 3 witnesses that we know of who are all sworn Police Officers.

TypoQueen of course is welcome to wait for something, what I don’t know, but I guess something that states that these Officers would not only have a reason to lie but that they DO and DID LIE. This would mean that at least 25-33% of all Paso Robles Police Officers are sociopaths rather than the Police Chief who has already been caught lying how many times? At least 2 that I know of including about where she got her unregistered gun.

    .
Putting on my religious purple robe this morning, it reminded me to take heed once again with the shenanigans that permeate the City Hall of Paso Robles!

Sodom and Gomorrah were saturated with sexual deviance, filthy behavior, and every form of godlessness known to mankind. This today could be likened to the city of Paso Robles, California!

We read in both 2nd Peter 2:6 and Jude 1:7 that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah as an EXAMPLE of what is going to happen to all the wicked. Since we don’t see fire and brimstone coming out of the sky today, it is obvious that the Scriptures are referring to the Lake of Fire. Duh.

2nd Thessalonians 1:8 supports this, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” To the city government of Paso Robles, are you listening?!

We read about the Lake of Fire in Revelation 20:11-15. This will be the eternal damnation of all those who die in their sins, never having been born-again in Christ Jesus (John 3:3)

The above biblical facts are aimed at Lisa Solomon’s sexual antics, Apps refusal to admonish her, other than to hand her 250K, the Satanic city council that looked the other way, and the demonic looking city attorney!

Paso Roblians, remove the sin from your ranks of government before our Christian God takes His revenge upon your city like He did with Sodom and Gomorrah! Save your property values, take action now!

How was I wrong? I have no wounds, I’m proud of not joining in with the mob. I’m not the laughing stock around central coast. You guys must not get out much, you obviously don’t hear what people are saying about the gossip around here. Most of you have become a joke, a punchline. There’s not many of you but because you stir each other up you all feel that everyone is on your bandwagon. But in reality you are just a very small group of people and you have just become silly, most people in the real world don’t take you serious. The problem is that just as in high school if someone becomes a victim of the gossip on this site it can really damage their reputation, so it’s not funny to them, it’s rather sad. Just a small group of bullies.

This Soloman thing could have been a well reported, well investigated and very important with intelligent discussion but the entire way it was handled is just pathetic. Just that the only public political fans of this type of gossip are people like Julie Tacker says a lot.

The only thing that I’ve said from day one was to wait until facts come out before slandering, attacking and verbally lynching people so how was that wrong? I was attacked and censored for not following along. Please enlighten me and tell me how waiting for facts became such a bad thing. Never mind, my line of thought goes against the grain around here. So jump on your bandwagon and go get em Ted, there’s always more people to hurt. I hear they have rope and pitchforks on sale at OSH,,,that makes it a good day for your crew.

I’m not going back forth with you people on this, you just don’t get it. So go for it, attack me some more, I won’t fight back.

“The only thing that I’ve said from day one was to wait until facts come out before slandering, attacking and verbally lynching people so how was that wrong?”

In your quote above, you’re stepping on your own premise in the fact that you state above, in part, “wait until facts come out before slandering….” Dear, if they’re FACTS, then one doesn’t have to slander the persons in question because facts are facts and they stand upon their own! Do you understand this most simple deduction?

Because of your convoluted statement above, is the reason why it’s hard to try and intellectually get through to you. Get it? Sure you do.

“So go for it, attack me some more, I won’t fight back.”

No dear, there is no need for me to attack you in any way because you’ve made your point by hiding your head in the sand in that you can’t even accept “silent facts” along with “actual facts” and what they represent relative to this story.

You won’t fight back? That is understood, because you can’t and remain intelligent looking in the aftermath.

When are you starting your own forum? A suggested name for you would be; “The Ostrich forum, where we keep our heads in the sand”.

Typoqueen, there is no need for you to try in vain once again to converse with me any more upon this topic, other than for you to have the last word, okay? Thanks.

There is a difference between 7 people passing a rumor and 7 sworn POLICE OFFICERS saying it either happened to them or that they personally were there and witnessed it. Those are facts that are on the record with their names attached to their statements. Now stick a cork in it. If those 7 Officers testified in court who do you expect a jury would believe? There is no forensic evidence apart from the fact that she had sexual intercourse with a subordinate and had his child although he didn’t complain. There is no DNA evidence with her skin cells on the Officers penis’s, there is their word that it occurred. The word of NOT just 1 – NOT just 2- NOT just 3 – NOT just 4 – NOT just -5 NOT just 6 – BUT 7 sworn Police Officers say it occurred and that is just what we know of prior to the investigation that has been SQUASHED from the public. Stop making a fool of yourself.
